Who we are...

Hey my fellow Temple Lovers!

So who we are is always burning question. Though I would love for you to learn and formulate your own opinions; I will provide you with the shortest response possible for our attention spans. (mine is very short.)

Temple Love Living Co. was started in 2017 by myself. The mysterious Black woman behind the blog also known as Cake or Charity Hamidullah.

Temple Love began with one shirt the OG Temple Tee. This shirt concept was birthed upon seeing all the shirts of famous people and idol names listed upon tees. Then I thought our coochies are idols too! Temples! We are temples! And, we should be proud about whom we are. Seriously, this was my thought process.

So from an idea became a shirt. And, then the shirt became popular and I became a bit stressed because I didn't fully know the magnitude of what I was getting myself into. At first, I thought I was a tattoo artist with a great shirt idea that expressed my love for self and positive female empowerment. But, then I realized what more it could be.

For a long time I had no time for this dream. My presence was focused on other work and it really bothered me. Not, because I wanted to just continue to make cool shirts but because I knew that Temple Love Living Co. could be so much more than a random pop up.

I had visions to see Temple Love become a space of love, equality and safe zone to express. Dreams of community, care packages and opportunities for those who joined our space continuously filled my mind. And, our mission began to surface from a brand about women empowerment to the empowerment of individuals through self love. From then on out, I realized that is was time to make time for what I loved and believed in. There was no space for my excuses because this is bigger than me.

Sometime in 2019, I began to slowly addressing what was holding Temple Love back. I was at the top of the list but then became issues of production, space ect. So gradually I worked extra hard to pour financials into equipment to self-produce and ship. Yes, it was our goal to be our own plug! Then we found a space to produce. No more creating out our home. I would've loved to save that expense but we have too many cats. And, I wasn't hear to sell hairy coochie tees.

On second thoughts hairy coochie tees would actually be grand but let me move forward.

It's been a lot of sacrifice and now we are here. But, this is only our beginning and every part of our journey along the way means so much more because of the moments we have gone through. Thank you for reading and taking the time to get to know us as a brand. We are so looking forward to learning more about you.
